YouTube Playlist Length Calculator

Paste a YouTube playlist or video link to get the total watch time at 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 2x and more. Pick a range (e.g. videos 12–30 of a course) and see how many days it takes at your daily pace.

e.g. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL… or a youtu.be/… link

How the Playlist Length Is Calculated

We read the duration of every public video in the playlist from YouTube, add them up, then divide by your playback speed: time at speed = total length ÷ speed. Private, deleted and members-only videos are skipped and counted separately. Live streams that are still running have no length yet and count as 0.

Courses and lecture series are where this matters most: a 40-hour course at 1.5x is about 26.7 hours, and at 2x it is 20 hours. Not sure which speed fits your schedule? Use the speed needed calculator.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find the total length of a YouTube playlist?
Copy the playlist URL (it contains list=), paste it above and press Calculate. You get the total length plus the time at every common speed.
Can I calculate only part of a playlist?
Yes. Set "From #" and "To #" to the video numbers you still need to watch — for example 15 to 42 — and every number updates.
Is there a limit on playlist size?
The first 500 videos are included. That covers almost every course, lecture series and music playlist.
Why are some videos missing?
Private, deleted, region-blocked and members-only videos don't expose a duration, so they are skipped. The result tells you how many were skipped.
