How to change playback speed on YouTube
Desktop: Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the video player → "Playback speed" → select your speed.
Mobile: Tap the video → tap the three dots (⋮) or gear icon → "Playback speed" → choose a speed.
How much time does each YouTube speed save?

- 1.5x — saves 33%. A 10-minute video becomes 6 min 40 sec.

Does YouTube speed affect watch time and analytics?
Yes, YouTube counts sped-up viewing as watching the content. If you watch a 10-minute video at 2x speed (5 minutes of clock time), YouTube still counts it as 10 minutes of watch time for the creator's analytics. So speed watching doesn't hurt creators.
